Also Known As: Murmur of the Heart
Company: Nouvelles Éditions de Films (NEF) / Marianne Productions / Vides Cinematografica
Aspect Ratio: 1.66 : 1
Plot: This is a jolly coming-of-age story about a 14-year-old boy named Laurent Chevalier who is growing up in bourgeois surroundings in Dijon, France. This is France in the mid-1950s rather than America in the 1990s. Thus, Laurent is unharmed by events which would irreparably shatter the self-esteem of a modern American adolescent: he gets drunk, he smokes, he has sex, he is smothered by his mother, he is ignored by his father, a priest makes a pass at him, he gets rheumatoid fever, etc. There's enough scandalous behavior in this film to make 100 made-for-TV movies, and yet this is a very happy and oddly innocent tale.
Cast and Character: Lea Massari as Clara Chevalier / Benoît Ferreux as Laurent Chevalier / Daniel Gélin as Charles Chevalier / Michael Lonsdale as Father Henri / Ave Ninchi as Augusta / Gila von Weitershausen as Freda / Fabien Ferreux as Thomas / Marc Winocourt as Marc / Micheline Bona as Aunt Claudine / Henri Poirier as Uncle Leonce / Liliane Sorval as Fernande / Corinne Kersten as Daphne / Eric Walter / François Werner as Hubert / René Bouloc as Man at Bastille Day party

The lovable, confident, tough, furry blue behemoth-like giant monster named James P. Sullivan (better known as Sulley) and his wisecracking best friend, short, green cyclops monster Mike Wazowski, discover what happens when the real world interacts with theirs in the form of a 2-year-old baby girl dubbed "Boo," who accidentally sneaks into the monster world with Sulley one night. And now it's up to Sulley and Mike to send Boo back in her door before anybody finds out, especially two evil villains such as Sulley's main rival as a scarer, chameleon-like Randall (a monster that Boo is very afraid of), who possesses the ability to change the color of his skin, and Mike and Sulley's boss Mr. Waternoose, the chairman and chief executive officer of Monsters, Inc.
